Meet Cathrine Dyssell,
What makes you you?
I think what shapes my identity is a combination of my values, my experiences, and decisions. I value honesty, kindness, and curiosity, and strive to live by these principles in all my actions. Throughout my life I have faced numerous challenges as well as opportunities, which has shaped my perspective and character. The choices I have made have led me to where I am today, and I acknowledge them as my own. I am constantly learning and growing, and I take pride in that.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by many things, but among the things that inspire me the most are people who overcome adversity and achieve their goals. I admire people who have a positive outlook on life, a strong work ethic, and a passion for what they do. My friends and family are a significant source of inspiration. The presence if such wonderful people motivate me to strive towards being the best version of myself.
What are your passions?
Engaging in activities like working out, traveling, baking, and doing creative projects such as pottery. These activities help me to stay healthy, express myself, and have fun while I feel like I am taking care of myself.
Physical exercise is beneficial for both my physical well-being as well as my mental health. I enjoy any physical activity that pushes my limits and challenge me. Whether it is running, hiking, Nordic Strong, or Cross Trainer which is my go-to in SATS, I always feel more energized and refreshed after a workout. Exercise also serves as a stress-reliever and mood-enhancer.
I am a curious person by nature, which is why I love traveling. It is one of the best ways to learn and to explore while visiting new places and immersing myself in different cultures – the food being a highlight.
Another passion of mine is baking because I find it relaxing and satisfying to transform simple ingredients into delicious treats that I can share and treats my closest friends and brother with.
Lastly, engaging in creative projects is another way for me to express myself and serves as a form of mindfulness for me.
I strive to make time for them as often as I can, as they enrich my life and bring me joy.
What is a lesson that you have learnt and you wish you knew before?
One of the most important lessons I have learnt my life so far is the importance of self-confidence and trusting my instincts. I have a tendency to doubt myself, particularly when it comes to personal matters. I have learnt to listen to my own voice and to follow my intuition. I have learnt to assert myself and advocate for my own achievements. I have learnt to embrace independence and assume responsibility for my own happiness.
When do you feel the most confident?
I feel the most confident when engaging in activities I am passionate about and proficient in. For instance, during work, exercise, or event planning. I also feel confident when I receive positive feedback, recognition, and appreciation from others. Knowing that I have given my best effort and made a valuable contribution also bolsters my self-assur.
